Those who remember God always are the ones who realized that they cannot live without Him, Im not refering to those who make God like a genie whom you ask for wishes everytime. Im talking about those who really believe because they obey and love God. In the bible, they are called disciples, people who have true relationship with God. So why do most people forget? Most people want to believe that they can live life without obeying and loving Him.

This is another subjective question, and really there are no finite answers.
One approach I would take, is if a person does not believe in God, or denies the existence of God, atheist or agnostic, I would submit that if that person gets into a near fatal accident, whether
preventable or not, or is threatened with their loss of life, due to impending gloom & doom, or personally threatened by someone to cause grievous harm(loss of life) then their opinion may rapidly
change about their religious leanings.
Another scenario is a patient laying on hospital bed, in a ward
that takes care of patients with terminal diseases, or for any
other reason, causing them impending death.
They may call for a priest or a Rabbi, or even an Imman(Islam)
to administer last rites for this patient, if they are nearing life
termination.

But the point is, during a human's life span, what are his/her religious leanings and do they fully embrace the entire principles
and doctrines of their selection?
For example there are many fallen away Catholics, who, at first,
they had definite loyalty ties to the Catholic church.
But they soon learn about the many inconsistencies that exist
within the doctrines taught about the Catholic religion.
And slowly depart from the Catholic church, until they attend no more at their local parish.

The same may be said for the Episcopalians, the Methodists,
the Protestants, some Jews, (Ethnic group notwithstanding)
Of course the big three Catholic, Judeo-Christian, Islam.
There are more religions (Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses,
others, Baptists, etc.)

My opinion: I think people are affected by their living environments,
growing up and adult, their DNA palys a role although probably passive. the kind of people they hang out with, the sociology of their careers and occupations, other minor factors, probably.

If you come from a family of alcoholics, chances are the off spring may follow suit, not always though.
If you come from a family of doctors, chances are their off spring will take a career, somewhere in medicine.
A family of lawyers, same thing.

If you are raised in a stable, balanced environment with good
family values practiced by the entire family, chances are the off
spring will follow the same path.
The core of democracy begins at home, and we must all adhere
to those principles.

Forgetting about the existence of God? Not for most people, I'm
of the opinion, our entire nation is founded on rock-ribbed core
values of Judeo-Christian precepts and concepts, and has
carried over from generation to generation.

Thats my message!

People forget about the existence of the Christian god because one of the great failings of the three big monotheistic religions is that they have created a being with no resemblence to human kind whatsoever. They have created a passionless, thoughtless entity with no name, no personal desire, and no personal struggle or story. The story of the Bible is one of an unknown God who occassionally interferes in the affairs of people for their own good. He has no reason to do anything other than for our own good. This is not a compelling character and people don't like to think about this god because he is not compelling.

Also, many people forget about god because they honestly do not believe in an ultimate ruler of the universe. To some people it's a little comic booky.

I think most people are more concerned with keeping up with the "Jones'" to remember that everything they have is God given. It is easier for some people to not necessarily forget His existance, but ignore it. Out of sight, out of mind sort of thing. After all, a common quote is, "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission." We, people as a whole, want to live as the world does, and then, at the end, ask for forgiveness from our up until then ignored Father. However, it is important to remember the scriptures tell us that if we don't know Jesus, he won't know us. I believe it's best to clear the board now, and strive to keep the marks down.

Because people are greedy, materialistic, selfish and have unnaturally hectic lives. Many people reason why spend time understanding God and trying to live up to His expectations when you can have fun and live it up all the while "being a good person" so you can get into "heaven". Rest assure that when those people need help they call on God for help and then forget about Him again.

The simple answer is that it's in our genes. The long answer:

The irrationality of religion has a scientific basis. It goes back to our cave man days when man was very insecure living in a hostile environment. The cerebral cortex of our brain (the complex thinking apparatus) is a relatively recent addition.

The more primitive underlying limbic system, the seat of our ancient emotions or innate temperaments, is in all of us. Humans use both systems. In times of trouble, people still pray for intervention by the god(s). Prayers are requests by persons to have the laws of the universe repealed in their favor.

People who are rational, relying on their cerebral cortex, look at all the absurdities in religion. Christian dogma expects people to believe the fairy tale of Noah's ark, although it is patently impossible to squeeze even samples of billions of the world's animals into one small ark. Rational persons consider such stories ludicrous.

The bible account of the creation of man and the universe is in such contradiction to irrefutable facts that a rational person cannot help but laugh about such fantasies.

Have you heard the saying "there's no atheists in foxholes?" Its because in times of danger, humans revert to the primitive part of their brain for security. We needed religion to survive in a hostile universe back in the cave man days.

They are Not Children of God.
Children believe their Father.
Repent and accept Jesus.
That is how I came to believe.
