Find yourself a quiet place and Pray that you perform to the best of your abilities and that someone will notice your talents and energy on the court. You have the skill otherwise you wouldn't be trying out for the team. Now give someone else just a minute of your time and put your hands in Gods hands

First of all you need to start doing some running and getting yourself in shape. That is a big plus when tryouts start. The coaches will see that this person showed up ready to play basketball and that they have been training in the off season. Second, you should work on your jumpshot, dont waste your time trying crazy shots or shots out of your range, that will be a waste of time. Having a good jumpshot is very important, Thirdly work on your dribbles. Ball handling is very very important, you must be able to handle the ball or you will lose the ball. The most important thing is play basketball hours a day before tryouts Get involved in pick-up and games and then make time to practice by yourself. Good luck

Hustle as much as you can, guard well, dive on the floor and don't turn the ball over. Play aggressive, take good shots, set picks, cut, and rebound. Play tough, dive on the floor for loose balls and have fun-don't think too much. Some things that may make a difference is to be the first to practice and the last to leave. Coaches notice things like that. When the coach is talking never take your eyes off of him. Sprint to every drill. Be a good teammate and always support your teammates no matter what. Just have fun. You can't do much about your skills now anyway. . . most of your work should have been done about two months ago so go out and do your best.

I LOVE BASKETBALL. okay so you want to get yourself a good pair of basketball shoes first step. make sure they come above your ankle especially if you arent wearing an ankle brace, it will protect you from spraining it.
physically there is sooo much you can do to get ready, if you have two basketballs thats perfect if only one, grab another one from the store
work on dribbling both balls at the same time, run suicides dribbling both balls at equal speeds, then try dribbling them at alternating speeds like faster and close to the ground with your right hand and slower higher dribbles with your left hand, this will help with your hand eye coordination.
once you think you have mastered that, do it blindfolded - that teaches you to focus on the feel of the ball not just where you think its going to bounce..but where it is going to bounce based on the spin and speed ect.
FOUL SHOTS a good foul shot is super important to get you on any team.
Coaches look for strong aggressive players who are not afraid to be fouled, if you suck at the line you are most likely going to be cut from the team.
Good luck!

if i had it to do over again i would live b-ball day and night like hot sauce on "and one" on espn. that guy was called a gym rat. if you want to make the team, live basketball starting now until the tryouts. hours and hours a day. when i was in the navy, i played constantly and should have played small college ball when i got out. i still regret it. good luck and give it everything you got. everything.............

i would say practice on your jumpshot and on freethrows those are two of the things coaches look at more then anything else is if you can shoot the ball and if you can shoot freethrows oh and make sure you can pass the ball good as well as be atleast an adequate defensive player

its all about ball handeling, running, shooting and your defense. It also helps if you can make a basket. Practice shooting and ball handeling. Be famailar wtih the court and just be yourself. Be comfortable on the court, like you own it or something. Play with emotion and your head.
