Well there has never been one called duo-core, but they have the Core Duo and the Core 2 Duo. The Core Duo is still based on the same architecture as the old Pentium Ms, just with two cores. The Core 2 Duo is based on the new architecture, and is much faster and more energy efficient.

The Core Duo was the first line of laptop processors that used dual core technology. That marketing label was not around for very long.

Core 2 Duo is the marketing label for the current line of dual core processors but the Core 2 Duo label is for desktops.

Centrino Duo is the marketing name for the current line of Core 2 Duo processors for laptops.
