How do I go about placing a picture by my user name? Instead of having that lame smiley gray box by it?

Using a photo as an avator
1. Set up a Yahoo 360 page at http://360.yahoo.com
2. Click on "my page"
3. Click on "edit personal photos"
4. Upload the photo and set as primary
5. Go to Yahoo Answers
6. Click on "my q&a"
7. Click on "edit my info"
8. Click on "use my Yahoo 360 picture"
Using a Yahoo Mail avatar
1. Go to http://avatars.yahoo.com and create an avatar
2. Go to Yahoo Answers
3. Click on "my q&a"
4. Click on "edit my info"
5. Click on "use my Yahoo Avatar"

If you want a photo or picture that you have, you will need to create a Yahoo 360 page.

Upload your picture to the 360 page.
If you want an avatar, you can create one, either through your email, or by http://avatars.yahoo.com/
It would be advised to go through your email, as then you create your avatar on the site your email account is on.
Now that you have a picture, you will have to edit your info on your 'My Q&A' page. Click the 'Edit My Info' link below the current information about you.
On the page that opens, you can choose between, 'No Picture' (what you have), 'Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture', or 'Use my Yahoo! Avatar'.
Select the picture that is appropriate to you. The picture should be displayed on the 'Edit My Profile' page.
Then you will need to go to the bottom of the page, and press 'Preview'. On the page that opens, you can read what it will display. It will not show your picture yet. If anything is wrong, you can press 'Modify' and change what is needed, and re do the steps in this paragraph. If everything is ok, press the 'Ok' button.
Your picture should now be displayed.

open up your yahoo email (even if you don't use if, you can still get to it from the home page once you log in), and click on the smiley gray box. then you can design your avatar.

It's a yahoo avaitar (sp?) It's on your profile page. Or you can add in a pic from some where else. Just go to your yahoo profile page and go from there

My Q&A to Edit Profile
Select your profile pic or avatar.

You go into my Q&A then edit my profile and under pictures choose add advatar. Then you can choose your picture. It is alot of fun you can choose hair/skin color, clothes and background.
