My messanger is not working pls help?

I downloaded yahoo messanger but am an able to see the text which i type but when i send it to my friend he/she might see them,But for me i cant see what i am typing.What could be the problem?Pls help me.

Most probably this is some incorrect installation or DLL corruption. Suggest you uninstall Yahoo, Clean the registry using REGCLEAN and then reinstall Yahoo again. That should work. You havent specified the Version and OS details. Maybe I can see if there are any known issues to that. But Im using Yahoo 8.0 on XP Pro but no such issues.
