We have a war right here on our inner city streets, we homeless people, hurricane katrina victims are not being helped properly, we have mothers without health coverage, we have veterans who get no support from the government, we have millions of americans who pay social security and will never see it, we have thousands of missing children why are we worried about what the hell other countries are doing shouldn't we sweep under our own rug before sweeping under someone else's!!!!

This question does not pertain to me directly as some of you may think but if you get your heads out your snobbish butts you will see these people on the streets on the highways one might be your neighbor or even family member. When you use the ability to think you can come up with endless possibilities and trust me I would never use the government to solve any of my problems they aren't that severe. Stop tring to put me down and help someone else who needs it!!!!! Silverspoon in your mouth!!!

If we don't control these rogue country's now, they will come back to haunt us. In life, we must react to what we percieve as a problem, now! We weren't blessed with the ability to see into the furure, so we do the next best thing, we follow our instincts.

To date, we haven't failed by using our own intuition as our guide. This is evidenced by the fact that we are still here!

The domestic problems you have listed truly are sad, however they mean nothing if we don't have our life, liberty, and the resources to address these issues.

As an American this is what I have to say: 1. We are in deep trouble. Only about a half of all Americans and maybe a small portion of half a dozen countries actually care about what is at stake with the war on terror. 2.The US should keep doing what it has. Fight Al-Qaeda wherever she may be, rebuild Iraq(under the Geneva Convention they are required to undo the damage they made) and continue to shine the light of freedom into the darkest of corners. 3. I would start with trying to control spending in Congress. I would also find someone like Jack Bauer to head the Dept. of Homeland Security. 4. My opinion on Islam is that like many other religions. The worshipers should be given the same right to worship in the US as any other religion(which they are). The terrorists, in trying to force everyone to become Muslim have now become everything they hate in Americans. As for Bush I think he is an idiot. But I support him because unlike many politicians throughout the world he has had the courage to do something about the problems that plague the world and his country even if I disagree with some of them.

Well, we really have no problems as anyone willing to work in this country can actually grow up to be anything they want. Even a child of a homeless couple can study (work) and excell and get a full college schlorship and wind up a doctor or even president. The poorest of the poor blacks (or as Oaffra says the "po") can study (work) and grow up to be the Oaffra of the Windfrees. Work is the key. You cannot blame others or make excuses or lay off or flat back until you get pregnant, In America "WORK" is rewarded. If you don't work, you get lost before the government moves on to other countries. You must work. Hope this helps clarify things and gets you moving toward a life where you work hard and get a s rich as the oafrah.

We aren't trying to control other countries (I presume you mean Iraq). We are working to help them establish their own ability to govern. Their problems are much like ours. A bunch of uneducated individuals who expect government handouts riot to show their discontent. If so many women would not have illegitimate children, we could afford health care for over 90% of the country. Careful what you ask for, the sweeping may get pretty dirty.

Hmmm, devote our resources to the bottomless pit called the 'war on poverty', or prevent another attack? I think that the latter is the only thing on your exhaustive list that even comports with what our govenment is supposed to do.

When did we start thinking that the purpose of government was to bale out victoms and find missing children? Around the time of FDR?

You can't maintain a nation of freedom lovers and liberty seekers AND have the president be mother hen at the same time. You just can't.

I didn't know homeless people had the internet, so you must be @ the library. What did Louisianna do for you? They received millions to fix the levees before the whole fiasco happened. Who says everyone is entitled to free health care? Though I would rather see people here at home with free health care before spending the money on foreign aid.

Our options are this, fight on their land or ours.
They brough the fight here, we just moved it back to the middle east where it belongs.

Increasingly, it appears that only President George W. Bush and a handful of those paid to agree with his every move, word and whim still think the United States can prevail in his failed Iraq war.

Why do you turn to the government to solve your personal problems? I have none of those problems because I do for myself instead of depend on the government to do it for me.

The government's job, as spelled out in the Constitution, is to take care of problems that are caused by other countries.

I asked myself the same question. I agree with you. I think we should solve our own problems first and not spend too much money invading other countries. But maybe Pres. Bush thinks it's more important than solving the problems you mentioned in our country.
