Not only can you delete the history via internet options (menu bar > tools > internet options), but if you want to bring back the history icon to your browser, you can right click an empty part of your browser (where the history button is supposed to be) and choose "Customize".
Now look for the option to reset the tool bar. There you go!

Here is the 100% thing that will always work.
Ready?
Really?
The only way that you can make sure that your history is deleted is ...
1.) Don't go on sites that you don't want other people to know about.
Other than that, you could take your hard drive out, take out all the screws, then throw it off a bridge. Ok, that might be a bit extreme, but nobody would know what you looked at.

you should still have the address button, once you click it, either highlight all of them and enter delete (or one by one). Then go to recycle bin from control panel and click empty recycle bin. if you have deleted alot of info, it may take a while. to be sure it's gone, restart computer.
also if you still can't find address button, look to the very right, top portion of your screen and click on the small two black arrows, that will bring you to a new level that you may be able to access. good luck!
