The Iliad (Ancient Greek Ἰλιάς, Ilias) is, together with the Odyssey, one of two ancient Greek epic poems attributed to Homer, a supposedly blind Ionian poet. Scholars dispute whether Homer existed and whether he was a single person; that is to say, whether the Iliad and the Odyssey were written by one man, or were created by numerous bards over the course of many years, with no single unifying author. It is clear that the poems spring from a long tradition of oral poetry. Their influence on subsequent Greek, Roman and European culture has been enormous.
Odysseus is the main character in Homer's epic poem, the Odyssey and plays a key role in Homer's Iliad. He is renowned for his guile and resourcefulness, and is most famous for the ten years it took him to return home after the Trojan War. He was the king of Ithaca, husband of Penelope and father of Telemachus, and son of Laertes and Anticlea. In the tragedy Iphigenia at Aulis by Euripides, the legendary Sisyphus is mentioned as his father.

They Iliad is the story of the Trojan war and how the beautiful Helen was loved by many for her beauty and dudes fought over her. They built a big wood horse as a gift and then attacked using it.

The Oddesy is about Odysseus who was coming back from the Trojan war but took this funky detour because some god was pissed at him and he kept getting tied up on islands with crazy sirens and one eyed monsters and what not. When he finally makes it home, things are crazy there too.

In short that would be the difference.

Is the Iliad, the story of Odysseus? That's the only one I read.

The Iliad IS the legend of Odysseus, unless someone has written a condensed version (Lord help us), and called it: the Legend of Odysseus.

Ah, that should have been "tell me."

Here's a great site for both. Please click on the links below.

"The Iliad is a powerful, beautiful, and awe-inspiring work of ancient Greece. It combines the horridness and sometimes mundaneness of war into a epic poem filled with art, illustrious descriptions, and a myriad of wonderful literary images. The Virtual Iliad is a complete project and entity on this site which is both an audio and visual guide through the "Iliad."

"The "Odyssey" is a magnificient piece of literature that we find absolutely spectacular in the fact of its potential for helping us understand pre-history of many ancient cultures, and because of the fact that it is so well written and perhaps one of the first "books" (epics) ever written down. We hope that you find Homer's "Odyssey" enjoyable whether you are reading it for school, for study, or for pleasure."

the illiad is a direct translation of the original works of homer. It deals a lot with the seige of tryo.

the legend of odysseus deals more with his journey getting back to ithica.
