Yes, I would have this checked out at the vets to be on the safe side, but since it's moulting season it might be worth mentioning that my rabbit always looked absolutely dreadful when he was moulting - huge chunks of fur coming out all over the place, and skin dry and flaky. However, once he'd moulted he looked fine again. Good luck!

Take it to the vet and ask him to do a skin scrape to check for cheyliatella mites. One of the syumptoms is dandruff. These mite will bite humans and give you a very itchy rash. You can get medication to get rid of them on your rabbit.

What you are describing sounds like fur mites. I would take it to the vet.

It's quite possibly chellytellia which is infective to humans. Its easy to get rid of with the proper diagnosis and treatment. Please call a local vet for more details and visit www.rabbit.org for more information on rabbit related problems.

hi, i used to breed rabbits and one of our does used to suffer from a similar sounding thing. she used to get this reaction from mites and especially when she was moulting. we found that giving her a bath in anti - mite shampoo and grooming her regularly worked really well. we also used to use i tiny bit of a scent free calming / anti-dandruff conditioner after the shampoo!
if you are going to bath your bunny make sure they're properly dry before you put them back in the hutch tho. we used to lie ours on their backs and blow dry them with the hairdryer on warm setting, they loved it.

grooming them regularly helps to take away any loose hair that might be irritating them, try one of the little slicker brushes. if you're bunny is really scratching or has sore patches take them to the vet and have them checked out.

hope this helps

it will be cheyetiella aka walking dandruff. Take her to the vet for treatment. They are usually treating with ivermectin or xeno spot on for small furries, however these are only available from a vet.
