What are some of the problems and needs of modern-day Africa?

I think that there is a lot of corruption in many of the governments there. The corruption is not the sophisticated kind that we in the West experience with bread and circuses for the masses. But quite brutal and ugly corruption that gets up in your face and takes what it wants and you're just glad if you remain alive to talk about it.

However, this is not the case in most African Countries, but the ones that are bad are very bad indeed.
