Okay, My 13th birthday coming up in about 2 weeks and I am in the 8th grade. Honestly i dont look anything like a 12 year old. People in my family think that Im like 15 and people have asked if me and my 16 year old sister are twins. I really want to wear makeup, its not like im gunna use way too much and i know how to apply it. My mom still thinks that I'm too young but she still thinks of me like I'm a 10 year old. How can I convince her that I'm old and mature enough to wear makeup?

Thats a hard one, and really hun, its up to your mom. I wouldn't let my daughter wear too much at that age. I think just lip gloss. Don't rush it, your only going to be 13, you have your whole life ahead of you.

Honestly, just talk to your mum. Ask her if you can start off with something sublte, maybe a pale pink gloss and some natural brown eyeshadow? I think a lot of mum worry about their daughters appearing older then they are because then older guys start flirting with them, thinking they're legal and all that. It's a sticky situation but if you approach your mother in a mature manner she may see that you won't go over board on the make-up. Once you get that first step done and your mum can see that you know what you're doing you can slowly work in other pale colors: slightly brighter pinks or coral gloss, pastel pinks and greens for eyes. I vividly remember the girls in my 8th grade class oh so many years ago looking like tramps and I can understand why a parent would fear for their daughter's first steps into the world of make-up...just keep it simple and remember the tried and true phrase: less is more. When wearing make-up you want to look natural.

Maybe start off with something simple....lk a rosey lipgloss in a store and say to your mom...."what do you think about this", then gradually work towards other things lk a little blush to brighten your complextion. But really, the amazing thing about being 13, is not needing make-up and if you just can't take it anymore and HAVE to wear makeup don't go overboard. Otherwise, you will look lk a little girl playing dress up and that is not flattering for anyone.
Hope this helps ?

I went through the similar thing. Talk to your mom. If she won't give in and you just can't deal with it, pack a little makeup under the lining of your purse (AND SOME REMOVER) and apply it at school, then take it off before you go home. Not hard. But really, babe, as much as I totally understand, natural really is better. If you really must, then just go light. Follow the natural colours of your face. Make sure people see a beautiful YOU, not just your makeup.

By showing her how mature you are in other ways.

Do household chores without being asked. Do homework without being reminded. Speak respectfully to authority figures. Be super-responsible. And not just so that she'll let you wear makeup, but because you really want to be mature and responsible. Because that's far more important than lip gloss, after all!

I think 8th grade is a good time to start wearing little makeup-at least so you are prepared for high school. Start with very light eye shadow and lip gloss and go from there. Once your mother realizes that you are slow with it, she might feel better about it.

13?????? I would not put on make up at this age. You know why? At this age, you should have perfect complexion. If you put on makeup at this age, your skill will start to depend on the makeup and loss in glow. By the time you are 20, you would not dare to walk down the street without makeup. It would look dull and lifeless. At your age, you probably would buy make up that are lesser in quality, it would clog up your pores, acnes will start to pop up since you are too young for professional facials. Black heads, white heads, oil glands and all sort of problems.

its really up to ur mom.....but id ask her if u can start out with mascara and maybe a tinted lip gloss .......... show her that u can reasonably put it on and know the right amount to put on and not go over board.....and maybe then she will trust u with more a little at a time......she has to know that u can be responsable with it....then later down the road she knows u know how much is too much.....good luck.....and u dont need a bunch of makeup to make u look pretty......a little lip gloss and mascara can make u just as beautiful......

I am also 12 and I am turning thirteen soon, too!! All you do is tell your mom how you feel. If she doesn't crack, tell her that you are older than you used to be!! My parents let me wear makeup everyday now, and I am not so self consious about zits and stuff!!
Just tell her that you will only wear light makeup that will compliment your skin!!

ask her if you can wear makeup around the house and when ur with her first......is she says yes then apply it like you would if you were going to wear when you are away from her.....do that for awhile and then eventually mayb a month or 2 from then you can wear it whenever.....it usually helps if you talk to your mom about it....just remember tho you'll always be your moms little girl and she is just looking out for you.....good luck
