House was built in 1979 and the Toilet Tank Lid broke and I need to replace it. I am almost certain it is the original commode. Or, is there a universal Lid I can get? Thanks!

Call up a local plumbing or construction or even demolishion company, they pull out old toilets all the time, usually they just throw them out. This would be the best way to get it free, otherwise call a plumbing supply company, I'm not sure if they just sell the lid but ask, perhaps even they might have a broken toilet or extra lids, a little investigating goes a long way. Good luck

At our local home store (a Menard's), we found a plastic replacement. It's white and shaped like a t.t. lid and is a bit oversized for our tank but it has clips that are adjustable. The ceramic/porcelein replacements were kind of pricey. It's our third bathroom in an old house and we just did not want to spend much money. Works great.

In Berkley, CA there is a store called Urban Ore. People drop off old items from remodels and such. I was there yesterday and they had hundreds of toilet lids.

Try Home Depot or most hardware stores.

Walmart, Menard's or anywhere that sells accessories for bathroom appliances.
