I actually enjoyed both versions for different reason's. But probably my favorite is the Japanese version. It was more mentally disturbing, which I find more interesting anyway!
Check out "The Audition". Another Japanese movie in the same genre. It will completely freak you out!

The japanese one knocked spots off the yank one.Put it this way, can u imagine the Yanks coming up with something original but so good the Japanese would remake it? Can't picture it myself!

When it comes to horror movies, ALWAYS the japanese version. Americans just don't have it anymore, so they borrow or steal.
