How long will a doctor let you be in labor before resorting to c-section? I know every hosrital and doc is different but there's got to be an average somewhere.

I believe it's 36 hours from when labor starts or 24 hour from when your water breaks. Or if either mother or baby is in distress.

It is different everywhere. A doctor will do a c-section after an extremely long labor that hasn't progresses even with drugs, or if the baby or mother is in danger.

Once your water breaks, the clock starts ticking. You have 24 hours to deliver. If you don't, then they do C-Section.
Also, if you have been in active labor and haven't made any real progress, then they can all it at anytime.
In my second delivery, I was pushing and the baby's heartrate would drop. The cord was wrapped around his neck. They called a C-Section, but the doctor checked again and I was fully dilated so they gave me a few pushes to get him out. I made it and baby was fine. It's scary.
Best of luck.

It actually is determined by the TYPE of query. Some which are tediously demanding or trite, OR hateful rants OR while each and every phrase is misspelled (lyke omg so mi bff and me an my BF have been lyke all goin out an idk lyke omg .....) you already know, the ones style LOL. I pass the ones. But i do not brain studying via a quite lengthy Q whether it is first rate or exciting. Most of the Q's i reply anymore aren't lengthy nevertheless. But brief, humorous, and to the factor. xD ?

i was in labor for eleven hours before my doctor decided on c section. However, my water had already broke and I wasn't dialating at all. It probably depends on various factors

Hey, a lot depends on woman. However, they attach a monitor and wont let baby or you go into too much stress to have a delivery. Depends also upon if it's your first kid or subsequent. Usually they wait a little longer on the first. However, I don't have anything to go on other than personal experience.

Every Dr. is different, but I have noticed on average, most Dr.s only let you push for 2 hours. GOOD LUCK!

My baby was in distress after 36hrs. of labor. That was the deciding factor for my c-section.

It depends on how mom and baby are coping with labor.
It also depends on if your water has broken.
If your water has broken, generally an OB will want to deliver you within 24 hours of rupture of membranes.
