IT"S TRUE!!!!!!!!! the reason being that your heart is on the left side and while you're laying on your left, every thing is leaning on your heart and makes it work double time, so if you have a weak heart, it could cause problems.

My boyfriend told me the same thing. He said to sleep on the right side.
His grandmother told him that so it must be an old wives tale.
The heart is actually in the center of the chest slightly to the left

Ok ill explain all the stuff
1...when we are young (not old i mean) we tend to lean over many times both right and left ....and let me tell you there is nothing bad in sleeping like that because thats why we have Ribs.
2...As we get older...our body and bones get much stiffer ....and that is why Its called the Grandma's tale

It's an old wives tale. If you sleep on your face, you can't breathe. If you sleep on your back, you will snore. Sleep however you are comfortable.

How do you stop yourself from moving around in bed when you are sleeping and are not conscious of your movements? It is an old wives tail.

I've had coronary by-pass surgery and have an implanted defibrillator and sleep only on one side or the other. With 15 years experience can not tell you.
