It amuses how vociferous liberals are in their attacks against Fox News. Now I will concede that Fox News is neither fair, nor balanced, in fact it has a definite conservative slant, but the level of attack is ridiculous. The media in general has a liberal slant and they all appear more interested in ratings than truth. Yet we never hear attacks against CNN, MSNBC, etc. CBS was caught outright using forged documents as evidence. Where was all the liberal outrage against them? Give up? There wasn't any because they agreed with Dan Rather's excuse of "the story was true even if the documents were false". Personally, I don't trust Fox News any more than I trust CNN, ABC, or any other news outlet, but I recognize 2 facts. People are watching or they wouldn't be around and liberals hate Fox because they won't tell their side of the story only. My thought is you either believe in freedom or you don't. Not just freedom for those who agree with you.

What say you?

The news should be the facts period, anything else is editorial comment and should be labeled as such.

I am a liberal and this might suprise you I agree with you completely! I agree with freedom of speech but not with the news being slanted. I don't mind an opinion but give me the news in facts and let me decide what I think of it.

You're right. Freedom of speech and press, for liberals, means only those who agree with them. The news should be the news, period, just like you said. When I was in journalism school we were taught over and over that we should be as objective as possible. Now, I agree that if the news is coming through a person, which all of it is, then it is impossible to have a hundred percent objectivity, but I thought journalists were supposed to strive for it.

You ask a large question. I stay in Portland Oregon, A liberal paradise. I even have observed that the liberals listed right here are continually yelling approximately each ones freedom a speech and expression, perfect up till the time you're saying some thing they disagree with. some months in the past i became strolling by Pioneer courtroom abode sq. in downtown Portland. a team of peace protesters have been preserving a peace rally. As i became strolling for the time of the sq. heading for Starbucks i spotted a guy status in direction of the sq. who had a professional-existence message on a sandwich board he became donning. I watched liberal protester after liberal protester positioned down there peace indicators and walk over to the guy, push him, yell at him, a pair even knocked him down. I had such comprehend for this guy, no longer for his message yet for the undeniable fact that he might in simple terms upward thrust up and stand there and not say a be conscious. I additionally got here across it so ironic, that the individuals who delight themselves on peace and love have been violent and intimidating a individual who had a various perception than them. to respond to your question, no in my journey liberals basically care approximately freedom of speech while it quite is a message they want to hearken to.
