I'm considering going to a show at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts/ Oriental Theater (24 Randolph St. Chicago, IL) and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what some of the closest hotels/motels are? I'm looking for something that would be moderately priced, but definitely not a Motel 6.

You're going to be paying a premium to stay in downtown Chicago. But if you're looking for a place within walking distance I'd recommend the following three:

Hotel Monaco
Renaissance Hotel
Allegro Hotel

All three are within a few blocks of the theatre and are all much better than a Motel 6.

stay out of the city and there are plenty of hotels at reasonable rates. Then take the metra train downtown and get off right at the theater. A hotel in Chicago will cost you another mortgage. I recommend staying in Itasca 4-5 hotels, Holiday inn, Wyndham, and others and train depot is only blocks away then round trip to Chicago is under $10

He's right, a nice hotel in the suburbs would be a nice price, and the train can take you wherever you need to go. Rosemont is a nice suburb, and lots of hotels within walking distance of the L train. You can get a weekend visitor pass for the train, or a day pass for only $3 or something.

i think of you will sense sorry approximately shifting outdoors of Chicago considering you will finally end up taking the Metra to downtown, and then taking the CTA's blue line to UIC which in entire will cost you quite some time and money - $2 to park at Metra, $4 max to get downtown, $4 max to get domicile so just to get downtown for college fulltime you're observing an further $a hundred a month. meaning you're looking timewise a minimum of an hour an afternoon on the Metra, and approximately 40 minutes an afternoon on the CTA. At UIC you will get a pupil CTA pass, which provides endless rides on the CTA's bigger/subway trains, and buses according to semester, and better of all the cost of the pass (approximately $a hundred a semester) is going into your instructions, so no money comes out of your pocket top now, that's stable. i could inform you that in case you have been going to stay by way of your self, look further far flung from downtown on the blue line in the direction of O'Hare - according to hazard the Irving Park, or Jefferson Park provide up...you would be a pair of 0.5 hour from the school and save money on lease. in case you stumble on somebody to chop up the lease, look into the Damen provide up on the blue line. it extremely is Wiker Park so that's a competent section, slightly high priced, yet you would be rather close to to your college while not having to flow.

I have stayed at the Hotel Allegro, which is literally visable from the Oriental Theater. It is beautiful and colorful... and I think it's reasonably priced.
