I have tried real lemons, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, bleach and borax nothing worked to get downy softener smell out of Tupperware plastic bowls. I have finally found the real answer to get the smell completely gone. This is what I did filled a crock pot with 4 to 5 cups of water and added 5 tablespoons of beef bouillon. I tasted it so it taste like beef base soup. Next I added a rinsed off 5 pound corn beef brisket and added it's little pack of seasoning. I peeled 4 to 6 potatoes and added them whole. I cut 3 yellow onions in quarters and added them with their brown skin off. I put a piece of foil on top then put lid on to insulate it well while cooking. On high for 8 hours or longer for even softer to chew meat. Turned off and ate but left crock pot sit over night on stove completely covered with the foil and lid. In morning got all food out and put in fridge. Now the soup created and cooled in crock pot I poured it all in 1 big Tupperware Bowl and put Tupperware lid on bowl and would let air out of it twice a day and I would shake it in bowl each day to keep mixing with lid on for 10 days. Last I had another Tupperware bowl to get odor out so I poured the beef broth for first bowl to this bowl n did exact same thing for 10 days. Lastly, I hand washed the bowl and the smell is gone.

Tupperware has special product to use in the dishwasher to freshen up your aged plastics. It's called Plastic Booster. Ask your TW Lady for it. It is about $1.50 for a tube.
