You need to boot up in safe mode and run the virus scan. Then remove spam with adaware.

It is scanning everything that comes in to check for viruses. I took all AV off mine and just use Yahoo for email, they scan it for you before you get it. I never liked McAfee, I tried it once on this computer and I had to reformat. I prefer Norton, but with my older computer and the newer Norton that also go too slow. I also have 256k broadband, but still nothing can work any faster than the computer itself. I still have an AMD 6 processor.

2 possibilities spring to recommendations. One is that it is updating virus definitions from McAfee and if so it may take an hour or so online to upward thrust up as much as now then it is going to do uncommon and speedy updates. The greater in all risk element is that having been as much as date it is doing a scheduled virus test. a typical computing device could have approximately 50,000 records tto test so it takes approximately 2 or 3 hours and in case you keep interrupting it keeps beginning returned yet once you enable it run as quickly as then you definately can choose for to have it no longer test returned with out your permission and you're able to try this once you shut down for the day.
