Yahoo gets its stories from other news sources (especially the AP wire). They aren't doing any reporting; they're just gathering up what others have done into one spot.

"Fair and Balanced" - the phrase was introduced as an advertising slogan by Faux News ("Fox, not Facts"). They are perhaps the most obviously and extremely biased main-stream "news" outlet of all, a mouthpiece for ultraconservatives.

Yahoo, on the other hand, just posts news reports from AP, Reuters and other news agencies, as has been pointed out here by others. If one is an extremist on either side, it makes the center look like it's biased to the other side.

The best citizen is one who is open minded and gathers their information from multiple sources before forming an opinion.

There really isn't any true "fair and balanced" news outlet. There may be some that are more balanced than others but they all have their own agendas and post news in a way that helps these agendas. The best way to get information on all sides is to look at the way different agencies cover stories, be it liberal, conservative and everything in between. By the way, if you investigate, you'll realize that the majority of the media outlets are owned by nine huge companies worldwide, i.e. Time Warner, Rupert Murdoch, Disney, etc.

How do you mean? I thought all news media told the whole truth and did not succumb to the pressures of special interest groups. Just like government officials give the cold shoulder to wealthy lobbyists and never accept bribes.

They are not. Most of the news that they have reported is written by the AP or other sources. They just rank it by popularity.
