Wow... I am going to take a stab at this and guess "Quartzoid Bulb Detector."

Quartzoid bulbs burst at a fixed temperature usually releasing water or activating some other type of fire suppression agent.

That's a educated guess, because I have never heard it referred to as a QBD before.
