1.

Go to start - settings - control panel.

When you have that folder open, double click add-remove programs.

Remove any unwanted programs - that should clear up space.

2.
Double click My Computer

Right-Click C:/ Drive, select properties

Under General tab, select Disk Cleanup.

3.
If neither of these options work, you may have to buy a bigger hard drive. I would recommend at least a 80 gb hard drive

Double click My Computer

Right-Click C:/ Drive, select properties

Under General tab, select Disk Cleanup option . If this

doesnt work try moving some folders from C to other

drive in your system. Even if this doesnt work then go for

the option mentioned below

Go to start - settings - control panel.

When you have that folder open, double click add-

remove programs.

Remove any unwanted programs - that should clear up

space.

Click to open "my computer" . Right click on your C: drive and go to properties, click on clean disk. That will free up some space. You can also go to Add/Remove Programs, and delete any programs that you have no use for. Again frees up some space. If you want to keep the entire contents of your C: drive and its the only drive you have, then you might concider purchasing another harddrive and adding it to your computer. External Hard drives are fairly inexpensive and very easy - can just plug them into your USB and transfer your data and files to the external. Then you can safetly remove them from your C drive and still have the files for access on the external - thus freeing up space on the C: drive. Good Luck.

Firstly delete all the Temp files.
Start - Search or Find files with extension .tmp, .chk, .bak and files starting with ~symbol files and delete them

Go to Control Panel and Remove any unwanted Softwares installed.

My Computer - Right click Properties - disk cleanup.
even then the problem continues do install the software "Ace Utilities" which will help u in scanning and removing the unwanted files from your drive and also registry, etc., If u have any doubt in using this u can call any hardware engineer.

Have you every cleared out your temp files? I learned to do it by Microsoft, I think. By the way they would be a good place to call. You will be on hold a long time, but they answer questions.

To clear your temp files, which by the way is a scary thing to do the first time,... Start, Run, type in %temp% and when you get there edit "sellect all" and push the delete button on your keyboard. You might want to have someone hold your hand. It is very scary!! It really is best to do it with a Microsoft person the first time. Good luck.

yeah, start deleting all that crap you dont need on your computer. If you hav a lot of music, get rid of songs you dont listen to that often. get rid of all the **** movies as those take a bunch of space. those games you havent played in years, uninstall them.

basically all that crap that is on the programs list of your start menu that you dont use, uninstall.

That should help, and getting a computer that is more up to date would help as the ones from like 3 years ago have an average of 13 GB which doesn hold squat compared to new ones these days.

You can also download the free utility ccleaner (just search for ccleaner in Yahoo). This utility will clean up cache files and also clean up your registry. I use ccleaner all the time with excellent results!

If you don't wish to uninstall/delete your files, how about investing on another hard disk? Its kinda cheap nowadays.
