Your prob has nothing to do with the software. The DVD player your using is not compatible with the region code on the dvd itself. As someone said before DVDs are manufactured with any of 5 region codes. These were put there by the film industry to prevent someone from buying a DVD in North America (region 1) and then duping it for sale in Europe and/or Asia which may can only play DVDs with region codes 2 or 3. There are several sites that explain how to set the region code to 0 (which allows the DVD to be played anywhere and on any player. Do a search 'remove region code'.

DVDs are divided into 5 regions. US and Canada are region 1. thus playing a DVD with Region different than 1 wont be successful. I live in Lebanon, so i can't play DVDs with region other than 2 except on multyzone DVD players.

Your DVD player has a region setting. I believe region 1 is the correct setting for USA. Note that most players will only let you change this setting once, so make sure you know which region to set it to if you must change it. Don't take my word for the region 1 thing, look it up on the net to be sure.

Have you tried different DVDs? Are they from the right region?

your dvd player is set for another region or the disc you are trying to watch is formated in another region code. There are regions 1-7 and you can adjust your DVD player on your computer to play any of these regions, but once you change the setting a couple of times, it bevomes hardwired that way, you wont be able to change it again. North America is Region 1, Brittain and Japan are region 2

Different region examples would be United States and Europe (examples) if the DVD your trying to play is from Europe, it won't play in a US - DVD Player or computer, or vise versa. It should be noted on the DVD which region it plays.

I belive there is a option in all 3 of those progs that will allow you to change the region the dvd is from but you are limited on how many times you can change the region so do it carefully

it means you should not have the dvd to begin with.

the dvd was intended to be sold & used in a different region (part) of the world.

if you have a dvd player/program that can play all the different region dvds then that would have been okay.

know what region you belong to, & buy (obtain) dvds that have the same region number.

That depends on your make and model of DVD player. With some DVD players you can enter a code via the remote control to allow foreign DVDs to be played. However these models are not the norm and that information would be shown on any instruction booklet provided at purchase with your DVD player.
