Very important, no preference as to bar or liquid, just which ever you find most comfortable to your skin, plus a moisturizer after shower or bath, certainly decreases dry skin, especially during winter months. But soap is extremely important in personal hygiene, for the most part soap, kills most bacteria on your skin. Which in return greatly reduces the chances of infection, should you scratch yourself, or be scratch by a pet, or just those everyday accidental scratches. Thanks for the opportunity to address your question.

The soap actually breaks down the cell walls of bacteria and the like. Liquid is actually easier to use, but it depends on how long you rub into your skin. Make sure to use lots of hot water too.

Whichever you like best.

Anything that gets the crud and bacteria off is fine. I use a liquid and pour it on a clean washcloth and scrub everything--every day.

Soap is usually bad for the body - however you can find ph neutral soaps which do less damage.
