Really depends on your location. In Los Angeles, wearing open toes shoes all season are fine as well as sleaveless shirts. But in say Chicago...that wouldn't fly.
Type of business is also a factor. Entertainment biz, jeans...casual attire is norm. But in Fortune 500 companies..its all about the suits.
Glamour magazine has pictures of do's and don't...you can find what your looking for there.

send pictures of inappropriates? I think not.
inappropriate attire is something you "don't" want to see in business.
shorts, sandals with nude toes showing, clogs, leggings, lots of jewelry, low cut blouses, very high slits in skirts, too tight clothes, very short clothing, flashy colors, chandalier earings, evening gown like clothes or materials, strange color hair, strange color fingernails, long fingernails (if you have a typing job), some places don't allow tattoos showing, some places don't allow piercings except one set in the ears. Some places don't allow jeans. Some places don't allow anything but a suit.

shorts are inappropriate for office environment. also blouses with plunging necklines are definitely inappropriate (the boss can not concentrate on the work at hand if he sees not only your cleavage but practically your whole breast. Ill-fitting blouses and tops are inappropriate too. Try to invest in an office suit or dress that will help you look professional and respectful. Leave the trashy clothes to the bar.

I hate open seeing toe shoes in the office - but that is down to personal taste I guess.
Anyway, anything showing too much cleavage and neck - a lot of my office clothes are smart casual - which means smart but relaxed look to them. if I was a consultant it would be suits all the way. no logo -ed T-shirts too.

It all depends on your office ambience. What may be appropriate in a banking industry would be appropriate in an architectural firm. Rule of thumb is shy away from spaghhetti straps low waist pants with underwears peeking paired with too short blouses & rubber shoes. :) For guys, muscle shirts (yak!), rubber shoes, shirts without collars.

Fishnet stockings, camisoles, workout clothes (spandex), tennis shoes, non collar shirts for men, clothes that do not cover up tattoos, overwrinkled clothes, gloves, hats, halloween costumes when its obviously not halloween, see thru clothes, wet clothes, plastic clothes, leather pants, logos, jeans with holes, stained clothes, clothes that are too tight, multiple neon colored clothes, and psychedelic patterns.

basically think how you'd want to dress in front of your dad, respectfully. nothing too revealing, too tight, too short. sandals don't cut it either. nothing denim. suits are business formal. business casual would be khaki pants or some type of patterned dress pants. it's safest to go w/ a neutral dress pant (black, brown, navy, khaki, white/cream) and top off w/ a complimentary color on top. layer a pattern under a solid, or white under anything.
