trying to download a song, but it only downloads a couple of bytes, then stops. Anyone know why this is and/or can help me fix it?

ok ppl maybe i wasnt clear enough, my bad. im trying to download mp3 off the internet, not any p2p thing. i don't trust p2p cuz generlly it has viruses all over it. that and im at school, so i cant download any p2p thingy anyway. but for some reason i can download mp3s. but at a few sightes the download will stop after a few minutes

The best way to download music is to use a bittorrent client. Azureus is one of the most popular clients right now. It can be downloaded at http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
Then all you need to do is search for what you want (artist/album/movie) at a popular bittorrent site (listed below). I like btjunkie.org, but you can use any. Then when you find what you want, you download the small torrent file. Double-click the torrent file and it will open in your bittorrent client and begin downloading.
Yes, I know about limewire, it is not as useful to me since I download entire albums or discographies. Limewire is good, but only allows you to download single songs/videos.

Is this from a buying the song site or P2P site. If P2P if it stop downloading just wait it will pickup where it left off. If stop that usually means no one has the song to share at the moment...Thanks

download ares and when u download any songs they are already in a format of mp3 songs

To download mp3s you can try limewire,emule or morpheus.
These are all file sharing softwares.
