In -30 weather 25% humidity is the ideal to keep condensation to a minimum and still have some comfort. I personally like 40% at 70 degrees farenheit, but have some slight condensation on the windows.

Too much humidity and you invite mould along with dampness in the walls resulting in costly repairs and serious health problems.

Check the yellow pages for a home check and expert advice for your particular house..

Nooooooooo you need to be within a few % pts of the actual humidity level outside...what cause this is the DIFFERANCE between your humidity inside and the one outside.

45 percent humidity would be nice even 50% would be ok.you still would be doing good i don't understand people who say 30 35% there of there rocker thats way to low so there you have it 45 to 50% would be ideal.

Low.....It won't take much to fog them up. The difference in the temp from inside to outside will cause that to happen.

If you go lower the air will become very dry and uncomfotable ie dry out your sinuses making you more susceptible to getting sick.

If your windows fog you might also try running your ceiling fans in reverse, thermal drapes and/or new windows(double/triple pane) or storm windows
