NO - period, and they have the right to view your e-mail at that! Any computer transmission executed outside of your home on someone else's network belongs to them and they have all legal rights to all traffic in & out. They own it, maintain it - it's theirs.

People have been fired for having porn and games on their desktops, viewing personal e-mail at work and surfing the 'net. If you decide to try to hack into the network system, depending on where you work, it is a Federal offense, if not at the very least a criminal charge.

Your personal privacy starts and stops at your personal computer at home, on your own home network and via your own Internet connection.

There are ways to circumvent certain watchdog programs, nut the most important thing is you have to know what they are using to watch you. Also you must take into account that if they find out that you are circumventing their security then you will probably be fired. At least if you worked for me you would be fired, because this could be taken as an act of aggression against my network.
