For example staffing agencies like Robert Half, K force, and etc. I mean with my experience all this people do is take jobs from careerbuilder and monster and post it like their own job posting. Also you have multiple interviews that you don't even need if you didn't use a staffing agency. Also if the agency doesn't have a good working relationship with the client company that can make the candidate stand out/ What is the purpose of using one if all they do is take 40% of your salary when all they did is get you an interview with a company something anybody can do themselve for free on a job search engine.

That is a very good question.

People that have little experience attaining a job, like the temporary field, or like having the temp agencies do all of the recruiting work seek out temp agencies. I'm an HR Rep for a major company in the Chicagoland area and we staff some temp-to-hire employees. Occasionally, when I get swamped I have the temp agencies I work with do some direct recruiting for me.

A lot of the jobs that staffing agencies have available are not posted to the public. They employer benifits from using the staffing agency because they dont have to waste their time interviewing canadates, the staffing agency will do it for them. Staffing agencies can usually find you a job within a couple of days. If youre having a hard time getting employed, then youre using the wrong staffing agency.

The purpose of the staffing agency is to help people (job seekers) find temporary work with their clients. Not all the time it is the "perfect match", but at least it is work. They have short terms ones, like one days-three days, however some jobs are longer like one month. So, it depends on your experience and your test scores before they have work for you. It isn't every week they have work because they are in "search" for you. Once something that comes in that matches your background, then they will give you a call. Keep calling for availability. Something is bound to happen. I used a lot of staffing agencies for work because I am looking for clerical work and they are hard to find these days. If one agency don't have work, another one might have it. So, I suggest to use numerous of them for work. One of the agencies that I didn't have a good work relationship with, is don't bother with that one. After my position ended, they told me to go find the job myself. What a bunch of B*S. when it is so COMPETETIVE out there. So, it depends on what type of work you do and call them to see if they have it. Good Luck.

It's more involed than that. When a company hires you, they have expenses, ie. unemployment insurance. It also costs a company money to screen prospective employees, process candidates, background checks, etc. They bypass all that -and it's a lot cheaper - if they work with an agency. It's also easier if they decide to fire you - they don't need a 'reason', and they have a 'pool' of applicants pre-screened, ready any a moments notice.

A staffing agency provides an employee workforce for companies that are unable to staff enough employees for themselves.

I'm a working professional and have never used the agency's listed and I wouldn't suggest using them. Large firms who use headhunters will pay the fee these companies charge. If there is a company you want to work for contac the HR and they can direct you on how to apply.
