I have heard we get three great loves in a lifetime, some people only seem to get one, while others seem to fall in love constantly. How many chances do you think people get in love?

The idea that a person only gets a certain number of "loves" during the course of his/her life, is a myth, an extremely silly one in fact, that I believe started in some movie or romance novel or something. Some people, depending on various factors, will never be in love. For instance, a child, age four, who presumably hasn't aged enough to experience being "in love," say this child tragically dies at that young age. That child gets no "loves" in his life time. Take an old woman who was beautiful in her day and has always been the type who was afraid to be alone, she may have fallen "in love" dozens of times.... Also, the meaning of being "in love" means one thing for one person and something completely differet for the next....

The one's who fall in love constantly usually have an addiction to love; or the dopamine chemical for being love sick. These ppl are kinda like crack/cocaine addicts. They need more ... then freakier after each experience.

Some ppl didn't get the proper evalutaion period after a break up and need more than one chance to bond with a person. Sometimes situations like economy, social, or other influences didn't allow that person to realize their goal, and learn to communicate that goal with other ppl. For example, many times women don't relalize that by "giving in" to compromising situations, they're actually haming the relationship. It may take them several ppl to actually realize what to give in to and what to stand up for. Thus, they may have three loves to compensate.

Some ppl find their love right away. They focus on building their life relationship together making compromises along the way to ensure the relationship stands. Each person has to learn the balance on what giving and taking is. The sucessful relationships we see is usually balanced to each person in the marriage.

Some people love to love. They love everyone! Others, like me, wait a lifetime to find the love of their life. While I have loved before, I have never been "in love" until I met my current bf.

You get as many loves as you open yourself up to entering into your heart. There is no one answer for this question as it differs from person to person. I have loved many. I have had 2 great loves. I think this is an individual question that can't be answered for the whole of humanity.

The only true love in your lives our your kids. Dont get me wrong I love my husband to death. But the only true uncondtional love is the love you have for your children. Now to fall in love with a signifigant other if its meant to be you will find them all the rest is just practice to lead up to your potential soul mate

I think in life we get 2 loves. The first love is the all consuming love athat it seems you never get over and the 2nd one is the one you settle for.
