What is the best type of earphone for a landscaper to zone out the sound?

I found that the large over the ear type work the best, especially when the radio is built in, no wires. The second best is the in the ear buds with the rap around peice that holds on to the ear.

i would suggest getting the kind of ear covering that shooters use. they look like headphones and they completely cover your ears. you could also get the smaller type that you just slip into your ear, but i think the larger ones work better.

you can find them in the hunting section of sporting goods stores, and also at gun shops. my husband uses them for shooting and they are excellent at muffling loud noises.
