Definitely Old Star Wars, the Harry Potter movies are okay, but the books are so much better. Also, the Clone War Cartoons are a must see!

Hmmm. Darth Maul vs. Harry Potter?

Reminds one of the Darth Vader vs. Spock cartoons of yesteryear.

So is the force magic? Is magic a manifestation of the force? How does super-advanced technology (massive robot armies) respond to magic? Can a magical shield defend against a light-saber or a blaster?

Bottom line: In star wars they destroy an entire planet. In harry potter it happens on planet earth. I think the scope and power of star wars is greater.

Better is fuzzy. Criteria need to be supplied.

For children, I would definitely say Harry Potter. Its easier for them to relate to.
For Adults, Star Wars has the adult content we are looking for.
but, for a good sit down movie to just relax and fall into, I would have to say Harry Potter.
