Why everyone think Andy Roddick is a good tennis player ? Andy without his excellent serve, wouldn't even make it in the top 100, beside he has nerve problems to deal with. I think he reached his maximum in ranks. Next year, we will see new tennis players with great talent for men & women that will challenge the old ones, yet i think Roger has talent & few years to go as number one.

I wouldn't agree with you all saying roddick is the 3rd best player, i wouldn't even say that rafa is number 2, he's just a specialist and lives from the points he earned on sand this year... Andy is still young and maybe one day he will be on top again, but right now there are about 5 or 6 players like nalbandian, blake, ljubicic and some others wich are very close to the 3rd place... if we only ttake the talent, the top five maybe were:

Federer
Nadal
Roddick
Baghdatis
Djokovic

It would probably be Andy Roddick for now, because he's been to
a couple of US Open finals, and a couple of Wimbledon finals.
Lleyton Hewitt (former #1 player and winner of Wimbledon and the US Open), plus Marat Safin (Australian Open and US Open
former champion), would be among the contenders as well, but both of them are too low down the rankings at the present time to challenge Federer or even Nadal.

I think Roddick will be next in line.

Safin who is low down in the rankings needs to conquer the demons in his mind.

I think Hewitt has come to the end of his winning days.

Watch out for young guns like Andy Murray and Ancic.

Just these many people I can think of.

For me Andy Roddick doesn't even crack my top ten. Besides from his title run in Cincinnati and the final appearance at the US Open, he had just mediocre results and he is having that mental slump again he just lost in the semis in Vienna to Gonzalez and lost to Berdych in the 3rd round of the Madrid Masters.
For me the top three would be
1.FEDERER
2.NADAL
3. LJUBICIC

based on fact(current world ranking),it's david nalbandian.for me,i'd like andy roddick to be on the third spot.he is the one who is capable of getting that spot.others like marat safin or llyeton hewitt are also good choices but now it seems like they really need to work very hard in order to get there.i'd also like tomas berdych to be on the list too.=p
