i want to become a sports trainer and i want to work with professional football players and wrestlers, what does a sports trainer do? i was the team manager for my high school football team for three years and all i did was bring water and get the pre-wrap and tape when the coaches needed it, is it the same? how is it different?

It's a lot more than that. I was a trainer in high school and in the beginning of college. When you're a student it mainly consists of bringing them water but you then start taping them up yourself once you get the proper way to do it down (there is a specific way to tape ankles, wrists, thumbs, ect...) You also learn how to do rehab for specific injuries. Eventually you will be diagnosing the injuries and knowing exactly what to do to help fix it. I wish I had stuck through the drama involved (from that specific group for the college I attended) and stayed with it because I miss it everytime I watch a game... GOOD LUCK!

Many colleges have degrees in sports medicine/athletic training. Check the colleges near you to see if they offer that field.
