Roald Dahl is among my favorite authors. When you're done with his children's classics, move on to his short stories and novellas for older readers. My Uncle Oswald is a great place to start.

I have to agree with Rain Wanderer--if you're not allowed to write, then you can't read what you've written. If you read, you have no such limitations. Still... it's a hard call. If the logic that Rain Wanderer presented wasn't considered, I would go with being banned from writing. And vice versa--if the logic was considered, I'd go with being banned from reading.
