Lol, great question. I think we all suffer from the 'grass is greener' complex from time to time and have taken what's behind door number to when we should have stayed with one. Anyways, I know I didn't have much to offer as far as an answer, but this question just made me laugh. Big pile of crap on the other side. Nice. lol

The idea of "the grass is greener on the other side" is a concept that has been with mankind since the beginning. Man first walked out of Africa and kept on walking until the world was covered by humans because it is hardwired in our brains to look for something better. All inventions come from that same hardwiring thought..."there must be something better". Unfortunately this thought process finds its way into our relationships as well. People (men and women) are constantly evaluating (usually unconsciencously) whether a new potential mate would be better than the one they have now, and what are thier chances of acquiring that mate.
You are right in that USUALLY when a person crosses that fence they find themselves in a pile of crap. We are responsible for our own happiness, sadness, etc. If someone is unhappy the thing we most often do to change that is change mates, which is the least effective thing we can do. What most people don't realize is that THEY OFTEN BROUGHT THE CRAP, TO THE OTHER SIDE, WITH THEM.

grass is not always greener. Sometimes you step into a pile.
You mad your choice and now stick with it. You are not the only one who has been effected by your choice. Little ones has to reap you choice. Make the best of it.

i think some people alway want what others have or want what they cant have or just dont want what they have or just want something else all the time.
grass may be greener cause husband/wife buried in yard, cause mate is stealing money from job, cause wife sleeping with lawncare guy whose keeping the grass green. maybe greener cause they dont have kids or pets running around yet they are miserable cause they see your wonderful family.

Honey, The grass always looks greener from far, far away.
Then you get close and reality hits you! There is just as many weeds in this grass as there was in my own! Sometimes there is even grub worms and stuff you could not see from far away!
Sad............But true!
