I have a different recommendation for u;
Take a 4 day nile cruise, it is awesome. Worth every minute, you get to Visit Luxor, Aswan and several small towns and you get to see the best of all ancient egyptian monuments. A lot more exciting than staying in a hotel in Luxor and you to see a lot more than Luxor has to offer.
Cairo, great city, but very congested. There is no need to spend more than 2 days there. Visit the pyramids, sphinx and the Cairo museum in Tahrir square, this should not take more than a couple of days.
Sharm is amazing, worth the remaining 7 days, leaving the last day for departure of course. Sharm is a totally different mood. Haven for parties, clubs and the best diving in the world. There is no boring moment in Sharm so u can dive in the morning or simply bum around under the sun and party like hell at night or perhaps a fancy restaurant by the sea at night.

Without visiting Cairo a visit to Egypt in my eyes is pointless so given the option I would spend three days in Cairo visiting the Museum,Pyramids & shopping malls coupled with a five days in Sharm el Sheikh & finishing with a few days in Luxor before a direct flight home.

actually its a good vacation which contains a variety of activites so,here u r your schedule:
luxor<2 days> is about sightseeing only and visiting temples around but it is intresting you will know good information.
cairo<5 days>the capital where you can visit the pyramids,make some shopping,go out for some fun at any clubs or pubs.
Sharm<7 days>u have to know that this part is the best part of your trip,if you are a hyper person intrested in going out and have fun u will like it so much on the other side u will love the beach time there,make sure that it includes a weekend.by the way im goin sharm tomorrow cause we are having a 1 week feast holiday Have fun;)

wow what a vacataion, i wish i can do that but i dont have time.
anyways in luxor, its all about siteseeing, temples, monuments..etc so u dont need more than 3-4 days there.
sharm el sheikh has alotttt to do there, u can go diving in the red sea, climbing mountains, go on safari, dine with the beduins and the nightlife is cool too, so give it like 6-7 days.
also give a week in cairo there many places to visit like the pyramids, museums and there are plenty of hangouts as well.

cairo = 3 or 4 days
lxr= 3 or 4 days
sharm= more than 3 or 4 as you will have time to enjoy the sea and relax and scuba diving ..etc

i think 14 days are not enough I'm sure your next vacation you will come again to Egypt to enjoy more
