I don't think theres a true answer to this quesiton. The American Society is so broad these days, you can't really pin it down to one certain group of people. America consists of hundreds of groups and cultures. Different status, etc.

The movie Crash, which tells the story of how people in society perceive other races and the typical stereo types that are placed on people from all races. A very good movie.
