"a&f and ae are for white people"
but if i like it, does it matter???

You need to think about what you want. As long as you like the way you look it doesn't matter what other people think or say. If you like those brands, you are comfortable wearing them, and you are happy, then what others think doesn't matter.
No matter what race someone is, there will always be people out there who will have nothing better to do than make fun of someone else. People are like that because they lack self esteem of their own and, somehow, it helps them to feel better about themselves if they can put others down.
If you let other peoples opinions dictate how you dress, you are telling them that it is important to you how they feel and what they think. So think about this; if someone isn't going to accept you for who you are, clothing and all, how important to you is their opinion, really?
Have you heard of the old saying, "Opinions are like butt holes. Everybody has one."? You do what's best for you and what makes you happy. If someone doesn't like it, well? Remember the saying above.

I'm black and I dress like a skater. A lot of black kids that I went to high school with made fun of me. But guess what? I wasn't their friend so they didn't say it to my face and I could care less what people think about me.
I am not racist, so I am sorry if I offend anyone when I say this: most of the black people that I have ever come in contact with are the biggest bigots and hypocrites I have ever known. If you don't "dress," "talk," or "act" black (which I see as being ghetto), then you are shunned. You "want to be white" or are a "wannabe." That is bigotry at its finest! Most of the black girls that I've ever known made frun of me because I wore baggy skater clothes, wife beaters (a-line undershirts), and es and Element all of the time. I'd like to think also it's because I am light-skinned, tall, skinny, and pretty. (Yes, I may be a little full of myself, but it's okay.)
The crazy thing about it, is that you are your own person and I think doing little things like dressing preppy (if you like) will make you your own person and give you a sense of who you are and a huge load of self confidence. I saw how all the black kids acted and dressed and saw myself, and I was so happy that I didn't follow the masses. I think that I am a better person because I'm not afraid of a little critisizm.
A&F all the way! Good luck to you! They are going to find a way to make fun of you regardless, so you go ahead and look hot while they are talking sh!t behind your back!

I'm black,I dress preppy,and I look absolutely fantastic.
Develop your own style.When I was in my teens,I decided that I wanted to look like a Ralph Lauren ad. And so I do.
If you choose to adopt a very classic,preppy look because you happen to like it, I say, Welcome to the fold!!!
People with idle time on their hands will always talk about the people who are working hard to build up themselves and make themselves distinguished. Or wait, don't tell me, the ones telling you that you dress "white " are the same folks walking around with their underpants and er, cleavage ,showing out of their jeans. Go figure....

Just because we're only human beings, YES people will make fun of you. But hey who gives a damn. It's just like white people dressing with baggy clothes, chains, and well..etc. You shouldn't stop dressing the way you dress because of some people picking on you.

I'm not sure, people might but I don't think you should really care what other people think about you!
If you really want to dress that way than you should. I wouldn't say anything about because I don't see anything wrong with it and You should wear what you want to!

Be yourself, if it is a&f or ae. Be who you are and if others talk about you it is almost always because they are jealous, or afraid to be who they want to be.
Why can't people just be people.

WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK? Sorry for all caps, but that needs to be shouted because you need to wear what makes YOU happy, and screw what other people think! If they make fun of you, then they are jerks and you should just ignore them because they aren't happy with themselves, and they are probably too scared to wear what they REALLY want to, because they want to do what they think other people expect of them. People who don't think for themselves are NOT the kind of people you want to worry about, believe me. They don't live your life, so they need to just STFU and worry about themselves, not you. Good luck, and do what makes YOU happy, because you're the only person you need to be worrying about!

You should be able to wear whatever you want and NO ONE should make fun of you. I'm sure you would look great in A&F and don't worry about ignorant, bigoted people. Do your thing!!

Who cares if they do? And if they do it's just because they are ghetto trash. Wear whatever you are comfortable in. Not all black girls have to dress like hoochie skanks and not all black guys have to dress like ghetto thugs.
