a whole bunch of people called in sick, and then realized how much fun it was to stay at home and watch TV, so it caught on. Is that right, because I have a test on Friday.

It was a whole bunch of facters look it up. Second you must have been paying attention in class for my history teacher never gave that reasson. Or the substitute never paid attention in her classes.

Um, TV wasn't around in 1929. Second, it was caused by the stock market crash called Black Monday. People weren't at home, they were throwing themselves out of high-rises!
