Dude, when i worked at blockbuster my buddy and i did this really funny and cheap one. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the inspiration, and you can find pictures of both characters online, hell watch the movie
One person dresses like Indiana jones...go to a thrift store and you should find what you need for it, or could work with what they got there
The other person dresses like short round, same thing most of the stuff's at a thrift store.
Anyway, we would do the banter from the movie back and forth, most of the customers thought it was pretty funny, especially short round yelling dr. jones across the store. Do something and have fun with it man....

Smear on green make up put on a blonde wig and a night shirt and goe as Regan from the Exorcist. Or, wite make up a black wig and go as the girl from the Ring.

I was thinking along Belushi lines, too...how about Bluto from Animal House? Get a sweatshirt that says "College," crush some beer (or Coke) cans on your head every so often, and ask customers, "See if you can guess what I am now?"

I'm going as The Punisher. I just wear my normal black jeans, boots, and am having a special made black T with some images I made with some skulls, flames, and have it set in Hell. On it: "The Guilty Will Be Punished!"

flow as Don Johnson from Miami Vice. All you want is a pastel colored T-blouse, a cheap white or cream colored in advantageous condition and positioned on some ugly brown loafers with it. (yet no socks, he not in any respect wore socks.) remember the outsized sun shades.
