Excellent question! First of all, when I awake in the morning, I look at my hubby and thank the Lord that we've opened our eyes that morning. We're not "chickens" anymore, and have had much stress over the years. Our son passed away at 25, and shortly after that, my dad left us and so on. I could write a medical book on operations, heart and lungs, arthritis, and it seems, a dozen other medical problems. I find the best thing is NOT TO LOOK BACK AT THE SAD THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE. PERIOD. So I keep myself busy. I oil paint and have done some pretty good paintings, we go out to breakfast (as you guessed, we're both retired) but our minds aren't any different than a younger person, as far as being happy. Your happiness must come from within, and I feel so very lucky that I have so much. Still have another son, and grandchildren, lots of friends, and am social. Don't forget - if you're a LONER, you'll probably not be able to feel happy. How about joining a club. Take High School Courses: Dancing, Painting, or something that sounds interesting, but always something where you meet people. Don't gossip about anyone, and keep up your religious beliefs. Believe me, you'll be so busy that you'll be bubbling with happiness. If you're single, search out some NICE friends that don't have bad habits and do things with them like: roller skating, movies, etc., not hanging around town doing nothing. Be a volunteer!! Boy, does that give you a boost. Even just once a week, volunteering at a hospital to just go around and speak to people, or blowing up balloons in the children's ward, also telling some fairy tale stories will delight small children while they're being healed. Sit down and write yourself a list of things that you can do that makes OTHER people happy, and I guarantee you, you'll have it made. So, good luck, my friend.

Hmm, today has already started out kinda bad. I'm really tired and not feeling well, and I just got on here and totally dissed this girl's lyrics in the music section (they really were crappy though, and I'm pretty sure she was lying anyways...). I feel bad though, I never leave mean answers on here. It just wasn't the best morning. But now that I got that out, I can start a better morning! And I'll think about lunch! :)
Thanks for listening to that rant!
