People refer to good or bad luck when something happens that they had no control over. Well, that is what I observe at least.
You have to accept that you have no control over some things. You can only choose how you react to it. Maybe there's a way to fix it, or maybe not. You can choose to feel sorry for yourself, or you can chalk it up to experience and maybe even learn a lesson. Perhaps you might even think about it the next day, and see some humor in it. (Not always, of course.)
If you feel you always have "bad luck", stop and think about it. Is it really bad luck, or could you do things differently and prevent these things from happening?
Good luck! (ooops. It's just an expression, and really means I hope these things work out well for you in the end.)

You start by paying attention to what is going on around you and your life, and you look to eliminate those things that are causing unneeded distractions. Doing badly in school is NOT about luck, it is about attention, hard work and effort. YOU control these, not "luck", not "curses"! if you are doing badly in school it is YOUR FAULT, and no one else's. Given this mixture of non-specific complaints, my guess is that you are feeling sorry for yourself through teenage angst, feeling bored, and are looking for distractions to keep you "happy". You are focusing on distractions, and the REAL world is throwing sh*t at you because you are too lazy to put up a defense! That is not "bad luck", that is being personally irresponsible, inattentive, and just plain ignorant. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR *** AND BACK INTO THE SCHOOL BOOKS!. Your Number One Job right now is to PASS THOSE CLASSES. This extends for the next 5-10 years as you finish the lower grades, proceed through university, and begin a useful career. There is NO SUCH THING AS LUCK!! What happens to you is caused by and controlled by YOU. Your "bad luck" is not from some unknown source of chance, but due to your own laziness and focus on unproductive actions. Drop the sh*t in your life that is causing problems -- video games, smoking, alcohol, bad friends, WHATEVER it is in your life. Set your goals to get good grades, get through university, and get a career.

Bad luck is only there if you believe in it. You should remember during hard times everything that happens to you is either because of something you did previously to provoke it or it is meant to be to teach you a lesson or help you grow spiritually. You can take any luck as good luck as long as you have a positive approach to it.

I had a run of bad luck a few years back and Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse---- it did! As these events piled up I couldn't imagine the worst on the list:
1- Dec. 2004-car broke down $450 to fix
2- Dec. 2004-coffee maker broke
3- Jan. 2005-car broke down $200 to fix
4- Feb. 2005-tried to get different job I would enjoy- didn't get it
5- Mar. 2005-cat Carmen had to be put down due to cancer found back in Dec.- had her 14 years and loved her dearly
6- Mar. 2005-small grease fire in kitchen- nothing burned outside of the pan and small piece of carpet- fire dept. estimated damage at $2000- landlord's insurance company said $13,000!!!!!!
7- April-Dec. 2005-argue with insurance company constantly about trumped up claim- they wanted me to pay for things that were never done nor needed to be i.e. new cabinets when they didn't need to be replaced, new bathtub and toilet when the bathroom only had a thin layer of smoke- wanted me to pay for a dumpster that was never there, they wanted to charge me for removing the contents from my own bedroom and kitchen and to pay for things that were cleaned before the adjuster even got there, further, I stayed in the apartment while my landlord renovated it and paid my rent as normal but the insurance company included 3 months rent for the time I was there and on and on it went
8- Jan. 2006-insurance company threatened to take me to court- they provided me with NO proof of fire related or non-related items that had been cleaned or replaced so I told them that since they had no proof what-so-ever of what was purchased with the insurance money (I was still living at the apartment during the renovation and knew everything that had been done- most of it non-fire related like my landlord had some company come over and remove lilac bushes outside!) so I only had the fire dept. estimate to go buy regarding actual cost of damages- also told them that anything over the F.D. estimate that I would have to declare bankruptsy. With that they backed down and settled on $2,000!!! HA HA HA!!!!!
That's when things started to turn around again for me for at least a year and then another whole series of events that were less than pleasurable took place.... job related.
There really is no way to 'ward off' bad luck. It just happens and you gotta deal with it the best you can. I always rely on God myself-- and one thing to keep in mind-- don't take it personally for too long.... none of it matters anyway!
Have a great day!!!
