It's a wonderful time to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ, who came to save humanity. He is the reason we are celebrating this special time. This is also the season when my childhood memories of Christmas in the country always return to me. Suddenly my parents and my grandparents are alive again and we are listening to the joyful music while we decorate the tree that one of my uncles has cut down.

I always loved the lights, the church plays, the joy and laughter, the gifts, the special time with my family and the delicious home-cooked food. I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate Christmas and the precious memories it holds.

The fact that for a small time period, everyone is aware of God and what He has done for us.

The fresh smell of pine trees, the mouth-watering smell of roasting turkey, the tantalizing spicey aroma of pumpkin pies and apple cider, the acrid whiffs of woodsmoke, the "cold" no smell of snow, the smell of the church at Christmas.

Christmas cards because they say, "I am thinking of you!"

Christmas carols of every kind.

Crowded busy stores with everyone hustling and bustling. Adults smiling, laughing, arguing, looking worried or happy. Kids smiling, laughing, fighting, crying, looking in amazement at the displays.

Driving around looking at everyone's yard displays. The very elegant ones - my favorites are all white lights or all blue lights. The old fashioned large bulbs make a house look like a Currier & Ives scene. The ones where they have a hodgepodge mix of the last 20 years worth of purchases, but even then you have to smile at their exuberance.

Meeting all my neighbors in the parking lot when we all go out to clean our vehicles to move them for the snow plow.

Watching dogs and kids play in the snow.

Football.

TV specials - mainly the old favorites.

Love. A love so strong that you can actually feel it between people.

That's what I like about Christmas.

I love everything about Christmas! Everything from shopping for the perfect gifts for people to the amazing food, and most of all being with family and friends. My family lives all over the place and Christmas is the one time of year that we are all pulled together.

The Christmas spirit!!! Celebrating Jesus & being close to Him...
Christmas carols, snow (but it doesn't snow too much where I live :( , hot chocolate, Christmas lights :) :), cozy fires, frigid air that you can see your breath in, Christmas stories, the busy-ness of everyone rushing around to get gifts for one another, Christmas cookies, jingle bells, little children at toy stores, JOY :), decorating the tree, presents & family, church plays that make you cry and laugh at the same time, love...
It's one of the things I just can't put into words... I just love it

I'm not sure why I like Christmas. It's a lot of work and it costs too much money and I'm always stressed that the house is clean enough. It's strange because I really look forward to it every year but when you ask that question I just don't know.
hmmm...

First and foremost I love what Christmas means to me as a Christian. It's a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and reflect on what his coming meant. I like to decorate my house with lots of red and green. I love the music and the special times with family and church. The presents are fun too!
