mainly what ingriedients should i use?

Basically, you need to mix fat or oils with lye. Make sure to take safety precautions, including gloves and goggles, because lye is caustic and can severly injure you. You simply prepare a lye solution at an elevated temperature, then let it cool before mixing with the oils. Stir it until it thickens, which can happen quite suddenly. You can add fragrant oils at this point. Then pour it into a mold and let it harden at least overnight. The soap should cure for several weeks for maximum quality. You would probably do well to actually locate a book about soap making before attempting this based only on these rough instructions.

agreement with DavidK above. Hot lye is nothing to mess with. The two basic ingrdients are oil and lye, but the oil can come form any number of sources. The type of oil you use will determine how hard the soap is, how well it will foam, and how well it will provide "softening" of the skin. Also, as DavidK said, there are many books available out there. Look in the Crafts section of your favorite bookstore.
