The rule book clearly states that if any foreign substance is found on the hand the pitcher should be kicked out of the game and suspended for 10 days. Dirt or not...it doesn't specify.

Watch ESPN and you'll see he had that same "clump of dirt" on his hand in all 3 starts this postseason. They showed that he had a much more noticeable spot on his palm during the Oakland game.

He is a low down cheater. One game maybe I'd believe it but there is proof he did it.

and rules are rules. foreign substance is a foreign substance. dirt or not....low down POS is what I say.

it's tony's fault for not doing something about the lying piece of crap that is kenny rogers.

It's like this. Yes, he should have been kicked out of the game. If the substance was on his hand in previous games, as it has been shown over and over that it was clearly there, and in the same spot. Yeah, he's obviously taken it upon himself to choose arrogence over honesty. Is he the first pitcher to do this? NO.. He's not, but he's playing in the World Series, and he had to be an idiot to think that camera's weren't going to pull in tight on his hand. It's a stunt he won't get away with again. All eyes are now on him, the public knows something isn't right, and so do the professionals. If nothing else, his nerves alone may be enough to take him out of the rest of the series.

All that aside, Detriot still won last night. But, so what? That was just one game. There's still plenty left to determine the championship.

I am from St. Louis, and I'm a Cards fan. Last night is now the past, lets move through this series and crown a champion!

Absolutly not. Dirt is not a foreign substance and we will never know what exactly it was because the Cardinals didnt make a big enough issue out of it so thats their loss. SO since we dont know what exactly it was, how can you blame him? besides, If he did have pine tar on his hand, it hurt his game more than helped it because didnt he give up his only 2 hits in the game in the first inning?

well then maybe he should have. i don't know. i just know that its over and people need to quit making a big deal out of it because nothing is going to change. something else-after the substance was washed off, the cards still didn't score against him.
i don't know what should have been done. your probably right-if that's what the rulebook says then he should have been kicked out, but i think people should just forget about it because it is all over.

Dirt is NOT considered a "foreign substance".

With that said I am not buying that "clump of dirt" story.

I am not shocked, but am a little surprized by that whole thing.

The umpires couldnt do anything until the opposing manager asked them to "check"....which Tony Larussa did not do.

If Larussa had asked the umpires to "check" Rodgers, and they found that substance to be "foreign", then yes he should have been ejected.

Yep, and it doesn't matter if he did it on purpose or not.

La Russa let it go because he knows so many other players are up to something. they got it washed off. Had the cards obliterated him in the next innings Rogers would forever defamed. Tony's pretty smart about these things.

Since he was obviously up to something, let's not assume that the last 7 innings he wasn't pulling some other stunt.

because the officials not in any respect took the time to analyze it and tutor if replaced into or replaced into no longer dishonest, there is no the position to flow from right here. he's possibility free until eventually shown accountable. yet yeah, it replaced into pine tar.

No of course not for that reason but if he started singing, yes kick him out.

"It was a big clump of dirt, and I wiped it off," Rogers said. "I didn't know it was there, and they told me and I took it off, and it wasn't a big deal

DOES HE HAVE TO CHEAT??? THIS IS THE WORLD SERIES!!!
All I can say is his reputation just went out in the same fashion as Sosa's.
If by slight chance Detroit wins this WS it will always be remembered as the "CHEATERS SERIES" if he isn't reprimanded. He cheated himself in our eyes!

We got the dirt you Detroit in Mr Roger's neighborhood!

GO CARDINALS!!!
