Can they?? its like..to me ppl can ONLY be goth when they have a fair/pale skin..But is it possible for a person with a not so dark skin be a goth?? If they want to look fair, they have to wear white make-up on the face..but what about their body?? do they need to wear make-up on the body too?? i'm thinking to be a goth but its NOT for popularity or to attract attention..I love their attitude and their love for dark stuff..

I think you should enjoy your dark complexion, you'll be able to wear more dark clothing and make-up without looking like a clown. Just get some jet black eyeliner and put it on heavily, and chains and black clothes etc. Good luck with it, and everyon judges goths, even adults...so be careful if your going to try to get a job or be prom queen.

The answer is yes. I used to be a part of the Goth community-- obviously I don't follow suit anymore, as my avatar is pretty accurate-- and goth is only half about the "look". It's about embracing the darkness in life and this embrace can be intensified by lightening the skin to signify submersion into darkness, but it isn't a "uniform" or anything like that. Goth is the acceptance of those who see the beautiful and positive side of darkness and are skeptical about the poster image of beauty today. True goths will know this and accept you even if you don't have totally pale skin. The bottom line for them is to be who you are and want to be, and be beautiful because of it.

Being goth is a internal thing, so it doesn't matter what color skin you have. I personally have met goths that are African-American, Asian, and Hispanic. Again, the make up is just superficial, along with the clothes, and true goths can wear whatever they want and they'll still be goth. Check out http://www.sf-lilith.com/ and http://www.goth.net/goth for explanations about what being goth really means.

I have a friend whos into the whole "goth" thing. Shes has dark skin but she doesnt wear make up to make look pale. That would be rediculous! Stick to darker lip stick (black, deep purple) and heavy black eyeliner. Check out you local Hot Topic store for goth clothes.

To look goth forget about the pale skin. You dont need to do that.
God made your skin the color it is why change it. Your beautiful the way you are its not neccessary. You can look goth without pale skin.

Concentrate on dark EYES, dark FINGERBAILS, dark LIPS, dark jewlery, dark clothes, dark hair even. Doing this will make your skin appear pale without accentuating it with powder.

But if you wish to do this baby powder works well.

Yes. I have seen African American goths and Hispanic goths. It is all in the make up, the style of the clothes and, most importantly -- the attitude.

Absolutely! Being a goth has nothing to do with skin color, as many people mistakenly believe. Why don't you go to goth.net and learn more. Good luck! ^v^
