Ok, if you're late and you eventually get your period, that is not a sign of pregnancy. A sign would be that you are late and never get your period. So to answer your question of "how late do you have to be?" you have to be late, with no peroid.

You could be pregnant, though usually the morning sickness kicks in a little later.
Could the flutters be stress? Stress can cause a late period.
Enlarged and or sensitive breasts and a general "funny feeling" are good indicators.
But the best way is to invest in a pregnancy test if you're eager to know now. Some of them give accurate answers very early.
It's also possible that you were pregnant that time you thought you were and had a very early miscarriage. Those are very common and could easily look like a period.
So you might want to wait a little while before you do the test, unless you are really eager to know NOW.

Best of luck!

You should make a drs appointment either way. I was 3 weeks late, took 3 pregnancy tests, and all 3 came out negative. A week later, I go to the doctor, and I'm 2 months pregant with no symptoms other than no period. If you are normally late, your doc can see what's up and help you get more regular. Good luck, no matter what the outcome!

I was 1 wk late with my first. With my second I had a really strong gut feeling before my period was even due - about a week before. Do a test and put your mind at rest.

You should take a test as soon as you can. Some women (like me) don't stop having a period when pregnant. It gets irregular and/or very light. Do you have any fatigue or breast tenderness? These are other classic signs of pregnancy.

since this has happened to you before, I really can't say you may or not....after 2 weeks late I would take a test....if it is negative then you need to go to you OB to find out why your periods can be so late without being pg

well my dear, welcome to stress and marriage and all that fun happy bs. lol Trust me, it gets better. What I would do is take a test just to be safe and then schedule a doctor appt. Now if you are trying to get pregnant, then that could also cause your period to be late. Stress, gotta love it. If you are not trying to get pregnant, you might wanna get on the pill, its suppose to help regulate your period and all that. But no matter what, gl and hope this helps.

If you are regularly late, you might have a hormonal problem that will make it difficult for you to conceive. Take a pregnancy test and if it is negative, go see a doctor.
