There have been many instances, and not just involving the children of foreign diplomats and other non-Americans. Lots of cases involving Jehovah's Witnesses (who, like Muslims by the way, deny the concept of civil sovereignty and believe sovereignty belongs exclusively to God).

I dont know that illinois is any different than any other state,as far as I know it is your right and duty to pledge your allegiance to the united states of america.Notify the school authorities, your congress man or senator could help, notify the American Civil Liberties Union, they should be in the blue pages or gov pages of your telephone book or find them on line.

Again with this question? You still cannot tell us WHY you won't say the Pledge?

Grow up. You should respect the country that protects you and your family.

We all have to pick our battles, this one seems like it could be a non-issue. I am sure there are more things that you could be upset about instead of spending 30 seconds recognizing the wonderful country you are fortunate to live in.
