I wouldn't exactly call the horned spotted owl cute, i think it's quite ugly. But I guess things that are cute (and fluffy) will have more of a mass appeal.

Sharks ain't cute. But seen so much done for them as in promoting their awareness, their protection and survival.
Do you watch Discovery, do they show only cute things??? Have you seen what major wildlife protection agency around the world have done or are doin??
It aint about cute things.

I never thought of whales as being cute, and lots of people go around with "Save the whales" signs (okay okay, I haven't seen so many - they're still a protected specie though).

there just playing the role, we have to worry about the elephants, cruel inhuman way to get there tusks,grey hound dogs, the way they are treated, moreso,when there racing days are over, the waste of off shore fishing, all the ones they do catch in there nets and just let them die, for thats not the catch there trolling for, could go on, until we get it right with the animals, we'll never get it right with each other
